Darcelle's Christmas Show 12-16-07

Last night, we went to Darcelle's Christmas Drag show. It was fun times!

We got to sit in one of the booths so there was plenty of added comfort there, not to mention great viewing!

Kenny, Gabrielle and myself met Dad and Steve at Hobo's... for a drink. (I had Diet Coke....trying to stick to Kick Start) Then we went over to Darcelle's. What a fun show!!!

Then we went with Darcelle and the rest of the group to Shanghai. Not my favorite place. Quite trashy if I do say so myself. But fun...a great show and fun to people watch there.
After that, Gabrielle and I hitched a ride with Darcelle and Roxy in a guy named Cory's car.
We ended the evening with more drag performances at CC Slaughters. It was totally a fun night, but it was a work night....so needless to say, I'm a bit tired today!

Oh Tanenbaum, Oh Tanenbaum

So last weekend, the weekend of our "Christmas Gala" I decided that it wouldn't be a gala at all without a Christmas tree.
We went to the same place that we've gone since we've been together. The guy that owns it is just the nicest little quirky fella. Has been running it for 19 years...I think that's what he said. He has a Cocker Spaniel, Matthew, that's 15 years old I think. SO OLD. SO SWEET! I'm a weak person when it comes to dogs. I LOVE DOGS! And this dog was just so nice. He just sits in the guys car and sleeps while he runs the tree farm. I think they're two peas in a pod!

Anyway, this year we brought some recruits. Matt (from Vegas) Marie, Dom, and Kathleen. Everyone got a tree except Matt, obviously.

It snowed a little bit so that made it a little more festive.

My goal is to pick the most un-wanted tree on the lot. This year, I feel we did a good job of that!

The Stoutt's Christmas Gala

Well, we had a very busy weekend.

Matt, from Vegas was in town. We had a Christmas Tree to hunt, we had Christmas lights to hang and most importantly, we had the Christmas Gala to have.

We got every one of those things done successfully.

The party started at 7...Kenny decided to hop in the shower at 6:50. So the couple of guests that were there a little early decided to play a little game. "Who can get drunk before Kenny gets out of the shower?" Well, that's never a good idea. Drinking games should be outlawed for the lead to misbehavior and leaning over the toilet for a little rest.

I became too obnoxious for even my own husband! I had fun but I am a little embarrassed. It's never fun to be THAT GUY...and I was THAT GUY at my own party! Oh well. Everyone that was there loves me so they aren't mad...but I still feel dumb!

Vegas done in 48 hours!

Well...we made our annual trip to Vegas the weekend before Thanksgiving.
We had 48 hours and I wasn't going to waste a MOMENT of it.
I started before we even left for the airport. Traffic was horrid that day and I was nervous we wouldnt make it to the airport in time. My boss could sense that while I was waiting for Kenny to come get me and offered up a drink. "SURE!" I said.

We decided to take the MAX to the airport because the risk of getting stuck in traffic had me too freaked out! I didn't want to miss a moment in Vegas!

So we got it done in Vegas.

Kenny went to play poker in a tournament at 11:00AM at the Luxor so Matt, our Vegas friend, and I went to Mandalay Bay and had some beverages of the adult variety. I was drunk dialing by noon! It was funny.

We went to the arcade at the Luxor and played "Whack a Mole" and I WAS THE RULER at that game. Even drunk, I was good at it! You would have been amazed. Probably the best "Whack a Mole" player you've EVER seen.

We went and took a nap until the Vegas sun went down then got up, got refreshed with a good buffet dinner, and did it all over again! I didn't know I had that kind of animal inside of me anymore!

The weekend ended with a bad hangover and a delicious meal of "In-N-Out" ANIMAL STYLE and then a dinner with my Dad who flew into Vegas the day we left. We do that every year.

Anyone ever need any tips on how to do Vegas in 48 hours or less....I'm your woman!!!

Help a widowed mother of 3!

As some of you already know from my last blog, a friend of mine from high school tragically lost her husband on Saturday.

You may remember her...Stacy Besaw.

So so very sad. UNIMAGINABLE!

Over the last couple days, I've talked to her several times and from what I gather finances are a bit of a concern.

She's now the sole bread-winner of her family and she has 3 kids so I can imagine she's a bit nervous.

I'm asking anyone that wants to help monetarily, or otherwise to do so. It would mean the world to her I'm certain.

If you don't know her and feel odd sending it to her yourself, you an send to me and I guarantee you I'll take care of it for you. Or, you can send to her if that's easier.

Contact me if you want to help!

Thanks you guys!

I love my husband!

A friend of mine from high school called me very early this morning. I always say that if the phone rings and it's before 7, something isn't right.
Once again, that theory has been proven true.

She sounded so sad.

Her worst nightmare, a worst nightmare for a lot of people, had come to life.

She said, "I'm not so good."
She went on to tell me that her husband was on his way home from work on Friday night and was in a car accident and killed.

My heart broke for her, and is still breaking. I can't even imagine how sad she must feel right now. They have 3 kids and were SO in love! They didn't have a lot of fancy things, but had each other and that was all they needed.

I'm so sad for her right now and there isn't a thing I can do for her.

I went outside to Kenny, where he was raking leaves l and just held him in my arms and made a promise to NEVER take him for granted. I can't even fathom life without him.

We talked about it and we made a promise to each other to never leave mad or upset. ALWAYS leave on good terms.

My heart aches for my friend and I just hope she finds her new normal and is able to live a different kind of life.

Did you say...Vegas?

Well, Kenny has surprised me again! He kept his promise that he made while at "Jakes" for our anniversary!

I was having a bad day on Thursday and he called me and asked if I had checked my email yet. I said, "no."
I felt suspicious because usually I check it when I check it and that's that.
He called again and was really adamant that I check it STRAIGHT AWAY!

So I asked the boss if I could get online and check because it was driving me nuts!

When I the email box, there was an email from Alaska Airlines!!! It was our itinerary for our Vegas trip. We leave Friday!

We go for this same weekend every year. Have since we got together! I was sad that we weren't going but had come to terms with it.

I'm so excited! I have no pictures to put up of it...but you'll see them when we get back.

My goal is 500 pictures. Not sure it can be done since we'll only be there for 2 days. I'm gonna do my best and feel good about trying!

It's time for a new outfit!

I was just going through my pictures and I noticed that I WEAR THE SAME THING ALL THE TIME!
If I could just get somewhere with WW and stop stalling, I would HAVE to get new clothing and then perhaps wouldn't look the same all the time.

Most of you who know me well, know that I keep my camera at close reach at all times. I'm always taking pictures, (constantly taking pictures) and it seems that there can be a 4 week period of events and through all of them, I look EXACTLY the same!

It's time for a change!

Hard to do though. I don't want to stay at this weight for much longer. In fact, looking to change it up this week, hoping to anyway! I suppose I could go to Ross, but that takes patience. I could also go to Good Will, but that takes more than just patience! It takes balls, it takes perseverance and a lot of patience. Which I'm not so good with right now.

Anyway, I'll find a way!

Oopsies, I said I wasn't going to drink this weekend!

I did, I said I wasn't going to drink this weekend.

Well, I changed my mind.

We went to Ed and Rita's house. The boys played a friendly game of poker and the girls drank some friendly bottles of wine.

"White Truck" the wine we started with was decent, I thought. "Barefoot" the second one, not so good. But we decided to bypass our tongues and use straws to aid in faster alcohol absorbtion. That might not have been the best idea. Not sure.

Of course we took a walk. Also maybe not a a good idea. Cold, dark, 4 women alone, no cell phones. Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't think it's that good of an idea. :)

It was a fun time for sure!

Here are some things we came up with:

"When you swallow, you don't get air....when you swallow." Rita E
"Doesn't that look like an extremely large flame for such a small candle?" Rita E

"I'm NOT ********." Rita E

"I jumped out of my chair. I think they were looking at me funny, so I need some shaved ice." Rita E

"I'm just a mermaid princess." Rita E

"I can't drunk be mommy." Rita E

"WHAT?" Don't know who said that!

"FEERY SPICHEL"

"OFTEN?" "Who say's often?" Gmoo

"I do. I'm 30!" Marie

All Hallows Eve

Well, Halloween just happens to be my Fathers Birthday! He turned 56 and from what can see, doesn't look a day over 25! Especially this night!

I got a costume ready in about 10 minutes. I seem to do better under a little pressure. I waited truly until the last minute to come up with something and I think it turned out FANTASTIC!

I reminded myself of my late Aunt Marge and what's funny about that, I said NOTHING to anyone about it and when I saw my Dad, he said, "you look like your Aunt Marge!" :)

My sister and I went as TRASH! I went to Rite Aid earlier in the day and got some LONG LONG LONG fake nails, painted them trashy red, which is still half way on my nails by the way!

It was fun times! Our friends Shane and Gabrielle, now known (thanks to my father) as GAYbrielle, came down. HILARIOUS! He came as a Mormon and she came as a whore maid...we called them a "whoremon." HA!

Fun night, but whose idea was it to have Halloween on a work night?!

You can see all of my pictures at www.myspace.com/darcibehrend
But you have to be a MySpace-er to get into my profile I think!

To most of you, this will make NO sense! But please read!

To sum all of this that you are about to read....
We went to the beach this weekend. Cristin was awesome enough to let us stay.
We drank. SHOCKING I know. If you can find it in your heart to believe it, there was lots of drinking!

We took walks on the prom...as you'll read.
Marie, Dom, Kenny and I went crabbing earlier in the day. We got along for 1 hour 45 minutes...the last 15 minutes didn't go so well.

There is a book, like in every beach house, to write a little blurb about your stay at the beach house and I saw it and decided it was more of just a place for me to write my nonsense. Now, everyone that stays there, will have to decifer what the hell it all means!

I LOVE IT!

HERE GOES:

Entry #1
Friday, October 26th.

It's our first night here, in the beach house. I have figured out EVERYTHING is "just a baby."
We walked on the beach. Who knows how far? I have no idea. We walked on the prom and learned NOTHING! Perhaps, how to walk on hands and knees on the boardwalk railing, but not really. More, we just learned to crawl along there. I hope everyone learns the same stuff! More maybe tomorrow.

Entry #2
Saturday, October 27th

Sandy Teeth
What happens is, we go and then we learn why they are...if we can.
We have two babies here. I love both
My handwriting, not so good. But I love to write.
There isn't a thing wrong with burnt popcorn. We love it. Not sure what we'll do with just one!
It makes it so much harder. But we love everything.
There's not cheesesticks...and that's the problem.
AND...
When it's cold, there's less chance of hypothermia.
NOT ACTUALLY ONE BIT!!!

Entry #3
Saturday, October 27 (LATER THAT NIGHT)

So now, we're off to sleeping. Sometimes it's better to sleep this sort of thing off.

Just sleep, that's all there is. No more boats, just sleep. It's done for now...I think

If we split these crackers, it won't be so many times.

IKEA...nothing grabbed me by my ass!

ettin

So last night we went to IKEA with our new friends, Ben and Andrea!

We started out by HORRID traffic. It took us a long time to get there. There were a LOT of cars headed to Washington from the Oregon side. I think that sucks! Kenny says it's good for our economy. I don't care...it's horrid for our traffic!

Anyway, we had dinner in the delicious diner there. Surprisingly enough, Andrea and I were able to make good decisions. It's an easy place to eat as a Weight Watcher. With full and healthy bellies, we pressed on for the 2 hour journey that is IKEA! It took 2 FULL hours. AND there were no other people there really. Except one guy that had this horribly annoying laugh that Kenny decided early on WE MUST PASS THEM! So we did.

We tried out beds, (not sure we were supposed to) we tried out the shower (not sure we were supposed to) Andrea tried out the stuffed animal pit (not sure she was supposed to).

I had the new shoes on that caused such bad blisters a few weeks ago and was forced to go barefoot the rest of the way in there. I was 'reactivating' the blisters! NO GOOD!

We made the discovery that IKEA does all of their shopping at Target. And apparently the stuff they get at Target is worth so much, that they have to connect it to their store in some way! Either a hog-tie, or a screw...either way, you're NOT getting it out of that store!

We made it through and we didn't do too much damage to our bank accounts. Couldn't, didn't have enough trunk space!

Kenny and I decided that as a couple of married couples, we hang out well! I enjoyed being around them and so did Kenny. Besides, Andrea makes it easy for me to make good eating choices!

Oh, and one other thing...
The Crack Factory is the first door on the RIGHT!

A little more about me...Not that you didn't already know.

I'm married to Kenny. Kenny is WONDERFUL. Kenny is the best husband ever. (except Ben of course!) Kenny and I were married September 30th, 2006. Kenny and I have a house in ...well...we have a house together. Kenny and I like to sell things on Ebay. Kenny and I have a love for eachother that is absolutely everlasting. Kenny gets me. Kenny is patient with me. Kenny adores me. KENNY KENNY KENNY! I guess this post should have been titled "Kenny."

Anyway, with all that poor grammar out of my system I just have to say that I love him!

We have a very fun life together and as my blog goes on, you'll see more of it because I'm an addict...to my camera that is. I take it everywhere, I take pictures of everything. Not a moment in our lives goes un-documented. It's very important to me and Kenny is very understanding of it. I think I'd be irritated by me.

Anyway, I'm a nanny. I take care of 2 kids that I LOVE LOVE LOVE so much. They're so great! The family I work for is awesome. They are fun times and we share a lot of the same ideals which makes my job a lot easier. Not to mention their kids are adorable! It's hard to take it too seriously when the kids are so stinkin cute.

Kenny is an accountant/office bitch for a local mortgage company. Seems to be liking it. He's good at what he does. And that goes for everything he does. He's very methodical and analytical. I love that about him. He comes up with some great ideas.

We/I have two dogs. My 1996 Model T Pug, Reggie who by some accounts smells like a sea lion cage. (BUT I LOVE HIM!) And my awesomely funny Cocker Spaniel Buddy. They're my babies. LOVE EM BOTH!

I think that's enough for now. I really do!

I love kettle corn!

The trouble with kettle corn is, it's so darn good, that I can't stop eating it once I start!
I eat it and as I'm enjoying it's crispy, sweet goodness I'm thinking to myself, "this isn't going to fair well at the scale."

You see, I'm a Weight Watcher and I know that kettle corn isn't the best choice for my afternoon snack! ESPECIALLY on the day of weigh in!

In other news...

I took Chloe to the pumpkin patch in North Plains the other day...which is where I got said crispy, sweet deliciousness! It was fun. In this picture, we're on the pond at the pumpkin patch.

Onto other things...
All the kids are resting quietly which is the peace in my day. I feel accomplished when, at 3;30, everyone is quiet and I can enjoy my afternoon snack, some good ole trashy tv, or just the quiet! (Let's just hope that every day isn't a kettle corn snack day!)
Chloe has a friend over, Keon, and they're watching "The Wizard of Oz" which I'll be doing also as soon as I'm done with this. I LOVE THAT MOVIE! But mostly when it turns color. The black and white, (sepia) part really isn't that interesting to me.
I find that's true with kids too. They don't sit quietly through a movie that's in black and white. It must be in color!
